Well I guess you are all wondering where I have been, well I have been to the AC in Truro doing my dye course that I need for the teachers Certificate! well that was an experience in it self! The teacher was Barbie Baker-Dyken she is top in her Field, but boy do you work hard and if you come out of that class not knowing your colour theory she is not to blame , I have been dyeing wool for 6years now and I learned a lot in this class. The techniques that I have come away with are just astounding and I will be using them in my everyday dyeing.
The time away to meet up with old friends was great as this is really the only time some of us see each other, so you all looked great! We had a great show and tell, each year I think it gets better and better, the hookers have so much talent and the teachers that come and draw out of us the skill we didn’t even know that was there is amazing, such as Elizabeth Blacks class, I still think of the little raccoon, he look as though he could jump off the linen!
If you are a hooker and reading this blog I would encourage you to go to a rug school as it helps you be inspired and also you make such wonderful life long friends! The Nova Scotia rug Hooking Guild has a fall school happening in September so if you are interested go on this web site. www.rhgns.com
This picture is of all the wool that we dyed in our class, this was sent to me by Pat! When the week was done we were exhausted! But it was worth it

Colour and more Colour
I would also like to say we all received our certificates for this class.
I have one more to go until I have filled all the paper requirements ,then I have hooked pieces that I have to do phew, but it will be worth it all! Ta for now from the happy hooker on Brier island
PS If you are interested in coming to the Wild and Woolly week-end there are a few spots open , so call to book your space @ 902-839-2607 Hope you all have a great long week-end !
